About Green Star Buildings Ecological Consultation
Our ecologists specialise in the achievement of two Green Star credits providing up to 6 points towards your Green Star rating. Our ecological services include investigating the opportunities for a project to meet minimum expectation, credit achievement and exceptional performance criteria, providing consultation to landscape and design teams and completing all required Green Star reporting:
- Credit 35 Impacts to Nature (2 points) – In addition to providing evidence that ecological values have been protected, we will complete a Context Report documenting the site’s current ecological values by type and biomass to understand the site’s historical and current ecological context.
- Credit 36 Biodiversity Enhancement (up to 4 points) – Completion of this credit will include ongoing consultation process with landscape and design teams to ensure the landscaped area and diversity of species requirements are met. Landscaping advice will prioritise the inclusion of locally endemic species to recreate elements of the plant communities that would have previously occurred onsite. We will also provide a Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP) to document the landscape design evolution, biodiversity methods and ongoing mitigation measures.

Developed for the Australian environment, Green Star has certified thousands of sustainable fitouts, buildings, homes and communities right across the country.
The GBCA rewards projects points based on their achievement of credits. The sum of points awarded determines the Green Star rating of a development:
- 4 Star (Best Practice) – 15 points
- 5 Star (Australian Excellence) – 35 points
- 6 Star (World Leadership) – 70 points
